Delaware Assistive Technology

The Delaware Assistive Technology Initiative (DATI) connects Delawareans who have disabilities with the tools they need in order to learn, work, play, and participate in community life safely and independently. DATI operates Assistive Technology Resource Centers that offer training as well as no-cost equipment loans and demonstrations. We also provide funding information, develop partnerships with state agencies and organizations, and publish resource materials and event calendars. A used equipment recycling program is also coordinated by DATI.

Delaware Council of the Blind and Visually Impaired (DCBVI)

The purpose of DCBVI is to work toward the improvement of the educational, vocational, and social condition of blind and visually impaired citizens of Delaware. We cooperate with public and private agencies and programs which provide services to the blind and visually impaired community. We participate in public education and outreach programs to inform Delawareans about issues of importance to the blind/visually impaired community.

NFB of Delaware

The Delaware Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped

The Delaware Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped has provided books in Braille and audio books in accessible formats for the blind and physically handicapped residents of Delaware. DLAS is the Delaware regional branch of the National Library Service for the Blind and Physically Handicapped (NLS) of the Library of Congress.

Delaware ParaTransit

The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requires that disabled individuals be guaranteed the same level of transportation services as non-disabled persons. DART First State is pleased to provide paratransit services for disabled persons unable to use our over 60 public fixed bus routes.
